The Meadow at Oahe Speedway — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pur­chase tickets?

Tick­ets may be pur­chased with ser­vice fees by log­ging online at TicketWeb.com, or by call­ing Tick­etWeb at 866–777-8932 (for Cana­dian orders please call 888–222-6608).

Tick­ets may also be pur­chased in per­son at the fol­low­ing locations:

  • Mor­ris Inc. Main Office Build­ing on the west side of the Mis­souri Bridge, 301 W. High­ways 14 & 34, Fort Pierre, SD 57532.  Open daily from 9am to 5pm.
  • Prairies Pages Book­seller located at 321 S. Pierre Street, Pierre, SD 57501

How much is the ser­vice fee?

Tick­etWeb ser­vice fees vary depend­ing on the type of pur­chase you choose — online, phone, mail orders, etc. The ser­vice fee at Mor­ris Inc. and Prairies Pages Book­seller is $1.00 per ticket.

May I bring children?

Yes, how­ever, due to artist con­tracts a ticket is required for chil­dren three years of age and older attend­ing a per­for­mance. No excep­tions. Chil­dren under the age of 3 are free with a tick­eted adult in the gen­eral admis­sion area.

What if I need a refund or lost my ticket?

Tick­ets are non-refundable except in the event of a can­cel­la­tion, and then tick­ets are refund­able at the orig­i­nal point of pur­chase only. Lost tick­ets pur­chased at Mor­ris, Inc. or any other in-person ticket loca­tion can­not be replaced: please han­dle them as you would cash. Please con­tact Tick­etWeb directly for any lost tick­ets pur­chased at Tick­etWeb online or over the phone.

Where is Will Call?

Will Call is located at the booth at the East Gate entrance to the Oahe Speed­way.  Will Call will open at the time the gates to the Meadow open, day-of-show only.

May I buy tick­ets the day of the show?

If avail­able, day of show tick­ets may be pur­chased at the Oahe Speed­way box office at the East Gate entrance. Day of show tick­ets may cost more than tick­ets pur­chased prior to the event date.

Where do I find con­cert updates?

Sched­uled per­for­mances could sell out at any­time, or a sup­port­ing act may change. To check on the most cur­rent ticket avail­abil­ity or changes to the line-up, please search for tick­ets online at Tick­etWeb or call 866–777-8932.

What if it rains? May I bring an umbrella?

All con­certs are per­formed out­side and held RAIN or SHINE. Please dress for the weather. There is no cov­ered seat­ing. Gen­eral admis­sion seat­ing is on the lawn. Shade umbrel­las are per­mit­ted only prior to the performance(s) and dur­ing inter­mis­sion. Nor­mal rain umbrel­las will be per­mit­ted dur­ing inclement weather only and will be asked to be put down dur­ing weather breaks.

Will I be able to stand and dance dur­ing the performance?

We ask that you be cour­te­ous to those around you and respect­ful of the artist’s performance.

May I bring a chair?

Gen­eral admis­sion seat­ing is festival-style on the Meadow lawn. Ticket hold­ers enter the field on a “first come, first served” basis. Blan­kets and/or low beach chairs are per­mit­ted any­where in GA Seat­ing. High back chairs (seat higher than 12″ from the ground and/or back is taller than 28″) will be required to move to the des­ig­nated “High Back Chair” areas.

Are there chairs for reserved seating?

Cur­rently there is no reserved seat­ing for events at the Meadow.

Is the con­cert series acces­si­ble to peo­ple with disabilities?

Dis­abled Reserve tick­ets are avail­able to pur­chase for guests with a State Dis­abled Per­mit — proof is required. For Gen­eral Admis­sion ticket hold­ers, one atten­dant with the chal­lenged guest is per­mit­ted to enter the Meadow approx­i­mately 15 min­utes prior to the Gen­eral Pub­lic. Any addi­tional mem­bers of a party will enter with the gen­eral pub­lic. Please note addi­tional space can­not be held in the Gen­eral Admis­sion sec­tion for more than the Dis­abled guest and atten­dant. Guests are encour­aged to call 605–223-9885, in advance, with dis­abled seat­ing ques­tions and park­ing details. Dis­abled Gen­eral Admis­sion tick­ets allow guests to sit on blan­kets and/or low chairs any­where in the Meadow. High back chairs (seats higher than 12″ from the ground and/or back is taller than 28″) will be required to move to a des­ig­nated area for wheel­chairs or any­where in the “High Back Chair” area at the back and perime­ter of the Meadow.

May I bring a camera?

Most artists’ con­tracts pro­hibit the use of flash cam­eras, pro­fes­sional cam­eras, dig­i­tal cam­eras and tape record­ing or video record­ing devices and there­fore they are not per­mit­ted in the Meadow. Dig­i­tal pho­tog­ra­phy is not per­mit­ted. Cam­eras, film, tape and discs will be con­fis­cated and may become the prop­erty of the artist. Cell phones are per­mit­ted, unless the artist con­tract states oth­er­wise. Should they become an obstruc­tion cell phones will be asked to be put away.

What is the process for parking?

Gates to the Meadow typ­i­cally open three hours prior to the show start time. Car­pool­ing is encour­aged. Park­ing atten­dants will direct cars to park­ing areas. Dis­abled park­ing on-site is avail­able with a Dis­abled Per­mit only. If all Dis­abled spots have been taken, dis­abled guests may be dropped off in front of the venue and park­ing will be offered in another loca­tion. Please call 605–223-9885 in advance for dis­abled park­ing details. RV or camper park­ing avail­able at Oahe Speed­way is for vehi­cles pre­reg­is­tered thru the venue; no addi­tional RV or camper park­ing will be offered.  For infor­ma­tion on other attrac­tions in the area, please con­tact the Pierre Cham­ber of Com­merce at 605–224– 7361 or at www.Pierre.org.

How do I get to the Meadow?

The Meadow at Oahe Speed­way is located four­teen (14) miles north of Pierre, South Dakota.  Map & Dri­ving Direc­tions.

Are taxis available?

We encour­age all atten­dees to plan ahead and des­ig­nate a dri­ver so every­one gets home safely.

May I bring alco­holic beverages?

The South Dakota Liquor Con­trol Board requires that any alco­holic bev­er­age con­sumed on the Meadow grounds be pur­chased at the Speed­way.  Our con­ces­sion stands will be open until approx­i­mately inter­mis­sion dur­ing per­for­mances. No other beer, spir­its or wine are per­mit­ted any­where on the grounds and will be con­fis­cated. For your safety and the safety of oth­ers, a secu­rity check will be done at the entry to the Meadow.  All cool­ers and bags will be checked. Please do not bring any alco­holic bev­er­ages with you.  NO GLASS BOTTLES WILL BE ALLOWED ON OAHE SPEEDWAY PREMISES AT ANY TIME.

May I bring my own pic­nic items?

A vari­ety of fresh food items are avail­able for pur­chase at the Oahe Speed­way con­ces­sion stands.  Please feel free to bring your own pic­nic and non-alcoholic beverages.

May I bring a bar­be­cue? What about candles?

Please, no bar­be­cues, can­dles, etc. No open flames are per­mit­ted any­where in the Meadow or Speed­way venue.

May I bring my pet?

Pets are not per­mit­ted on the grounds dur­ing con­certs. For the com­fort and safety of all, please leave your pets at home.

Is smok­ing permitted?

Smok­ing is per­mit­ted in the “Des­ig­nated Smok­ing Areas” only.

Will CDs and other artist mer­chan­dise be available?

Artist mer­chan­dise is pro­vided by the tour, some artists do not carry mer­chan­dise with them.

Where is Lost & Found located?

All lost and found items are kept in a secure loca­tion. Dur­ing a con­cert, please con­tact any of our secu­rity per­son­nel to inquire about your item. Any­time fol­low­ing a show, please con­tact us at 605–223-9885.

Is there safety and first aid service?

EMT’s are avail­able to assist with any med­ical emer­gency. Remem­ber to wear shoes at all times for your safety.
