The Inau­gural event at The Meadow is South Dakota’s own Red Wil­low Band (RWB).  The RWB, formed in 1975, played through­out the region for almost a decade.  Their music, described as “…swing with an infec­tious, jazzy tinge…” is as pure and beau­ti­ful today as it was dur­ing the hey­day of their pop­u­lar­ity.  If you were lucky enough to have caught the RWB back then you might have been in the Old Style Saloon in Dead­wood or seen them back­ing up Jerry Jeff Walker, Char­lie Daniels or the Pure Prairie League any­where from Sioux City to Den­ver.  Open­ing for Red Wil­low Band will be Pierre Favorites, “Albert and Gage” — native son Chris Gage and his wife/partner Chris­tine Albert.  Chris Gage was one of the orig­i­nal core mem­bers of the RWB.  He met his singer/songwriter wife Chris­tine while record­ing in Austin, Texas.  Today they bring their musi­cal part­ner­ship to the stage and have founded a record­ing com­pany and stu­dio in Texas.
