The Inaugural event at The Meadow is South Dakota’s own Red Willow Band (RWB). The RWB, formed in 1975, played throughout the region for almost a decade. Their music, described as “…swing with an infectious, jazzy tinge…” is as pure and beautiful today as it was during the heyday of their popularity. If you were lucky enough to have caught the RWB back then you might have been in the Old Style Saloon in Deadwood or seen them backing up Jerry Jeff Walker, Charlie Daniels or the Pure Prairie League anywhere from Sioux City to Denver. Opening for Red Willow Band will be Pierre Favorites, “Albert and Gage” — native son Chris Gage and his wife/partner Christine Albert. Chris Gage was one of the original core members of the RWB. He met his singer/songwriter wife Christine while recording in Austin, Texas. Today they bring their musical partnership to the stage and have founded a recording company and studio in Texas.
